February Recap

Today is the first day of Immersion! I’ve already gotten through the first few lessons. Not only do we get right into learning all about Illustrator, but Bonnie also makes sure we are coming into the course with the right mindset. Mindset is so important for an artist because the creative journey is NOT an easy one (putting artwork out into the world can feel extremely vulnerable). I love that Bonnie sets this foundation before we hit the ground running. I’ve already learned so much! ☺️

In February, I was able to participate in a few more drawing challenges and I can definitely see something happening in my style (but I’m still having fun exploring)! March is going to look a little different for me (with most of my efforts being put towards Immersion), but I’m hoping I will still find some time to do more of these challenges… they are such a good opportunity to practice.

I’ve also been doing some sketching for a new batch of products for spring! They will be listed in the Etsy shop around mid-March, so stay tuned! Here’s a little sneak peek in the meantime! 😉

In other news… my orchid has bloomed (which always feels like such an event)! It’s so pretty! Do you have any plants in your home that you get excited about when they bloom? 🌺

Happy Valentine's Day!

I could not resist participating in this adorable #dtiys by @marlitkraus because, well, a bunny! 🐰 I thought it would be perfect to share with you on Valentine’s day! I hope you are able to celebrate the day by doing something for someone you love to show them how much your care… even if that someone is you! (A day to pamper yourself, anyone?) Happy Valentine’s Day to you! 🥰❤️

January Recap

January was cold… 🥶 That left me lots of time to curl up on the couch with my iPad and draw! I was able to participate in a few #dtiys challenge by some of my favourite artists! I love these challenges so much because it’s an opportunity to study someone else’s style and work on translating their subject matter in a way that makes it your own. Have I landed on a consistent style yet? I don’t know if I’m quite there, but I will continue exploring and having fun playing with the way I draw in the meantime. It’s all part of the journey, and I’m so thankful you are here to be a part of it! ☺️

Also, how cute are these two? 🥰
